Flat webbing

Under the new standards, the breaking strength of flat or tubular safety webbing is indicated by the number of color-contrasted threads sewn into center of the backside of the webbing. Each indicates a strength of 5 kN. For example, piece of webbing with a strength of 21 kN will have 4 indicator threads.
